Airbus and ACSS to Certify T3CAS as an Integrated Surveillance Platform

for A320/A330/A340 Family of Aircraft

PHOENIX, February 11, 2008 – ACSS, an L-3 Communications and Thales Company, announced today an agreement with Airbus to certify its T3CAS product on all Airbus single aisle (A318/319/320/321) and long range (A330/A340, including A340-500/600) aircraft. T3CAS is an integrated system combining traffic alert collision avoidance (TCAS) technology with terrain awareness warning (TAWS) capability and a Mode S Transponder.

“This is a tremendous vote of confidence for ACSS. T3CAS offers our customers a solution for advanced surveillance in a single package,” said Kris Ganase, president of ACSS.

T3CAS features a TCAS II, Class A TAWS and Mode S Transponder in a single line-replaceable unit. The integrated platform for Airbus will offer ADS-B In (automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast) capabilities, such as Air Traffic Situational Awareness (ATSAW), which includes In-Trail Procedures (ITP). The new transponder will be a software update to ACSS transponders currently fitted on Airbus fleets.

Through this higher level of integration and technological advancement, T3CAS delivers lower acquisition and ownership costs, less weight and volume and reduced wiring with improved power efficiency.
